Divorce Resource

Sherry V. Wyble, CFP®, works with each client throughout the divorce process, providing comprehensive support, service, and guidance during the financial transition associated with divorce.  Sherry examines the FINANCIAL issues of a divorce and provides the client and their attorney with the necessary data to support their case.  A more detailed look at the services Sherry Wyble provides includes the following:

Pre-Settlement

  • Determine how much money will be needed to sustain the client's standard of living.
  • Evaluate the stocks, bonds and mutual funds that are to be divided.
  • Provide before- and after-tax analysis.  For example, assets that have greatly appreciated in value before a client receives them will be subject to higher taxes when the client decides to sell.
  • Work with the client and attorney to draw up budgets that demonstrate the appropriate level of support.
  • Help with determining the short-term and long-term financial impact of a divorce settlement.
  • Offer valuable insight into the pro's and con's of different settlement proposals.
  • Create personalized reports and graphs that illustrate the financial status, cash flow and graphic net worth of both parties.

 Post-Settlement

  • Forecast the long-term financial effects of the settlement.
  • Manage the financial settlement: answer questions, including how to best invest for the client and their children and how to prioritize so long-term needs are met.
  • Deal with specific challenges such as:
*Loss of health, life or disability insurance coverage
    *Loss of retirement-plan benefits

You will benefit by...

  • Having peace of mind that your settlement is financially feasible.
  • Hearing an objective viewpoint in an emotional situation.
  • Getting professional advice about your specific financial needs.
